WELCH FIELD POOL OPENING UPDATE
We will NOT be opening on Monday (7/20). As far as after that, we will have to take it day by day as we're still optimistic about opening sometime this week. We wish we could give you something more specific, but we’re awaiting a certificate of approval by our engineer that will then be approved by the county.
The filtration system has definitely been the trickiest part of the whole project as it was previously bought three years ago for our old building, but then we found out that we received a grant to get a new building. Modifying this new system in a new building that it wasn’t originally designed for has been quite challenging.
We're so sorry for the delays and for the fact that we are not yet open. We're getting very close to the finish line. Unfortunately, we just have a couple of things that need to get ironed out so that we can open. We appreciate you all so much for staying patient with us and sticking this out. It was never supposed to be this way, but we truly appreciate your patience and your support.
We're working on modifying our pool schedule so that we can get all of our swim lessons curriculum in, as well as add more aquacize and wee woozles classes, as well as lap swim sessions to our schedule. For anyone that purchased a season pass, you can get a full refund if you want, but it has to be requested before the pool opens as we're still anticipating opening sometime this week. Your season pass is worth 30 classes/sessions. We're expecting with the added classes/sessions that we will have approximately 60-75 classes for aquacize and 30-45 sessions for lap swim depending on the weather.
Please stay tuned to our Facebook pages for upcoming updates about this week's schedule and beyond.

JOB SERVICE
Westfield residents needing help with cleanup of their yards and other odd jobs are asked to call the Westfield Recreation Department at 716-753-6842 (Andrew) and we will assist in arranging a local teen to help. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to find a worker, but we will do our best! We serve as a third party to set up the person who needs the work done with someone who can do it. We do not have any input on the payment process.
We are still in need of new teens for the job service. Most jobs are typically raking leaves, mowing grass, other yardwork, snow shoveling, etc. If interested, please call the Westfield Recreation Department at 716-753-6842 (Andrew).
